This is a Sumatran tiger. There is only about 441 left in the wild. You can tell its a Sumatran tiger because it has circles below the eyes. The Sumatran tiger is the smallest of tiger subspecies. The white spots on the back of the ear are called "eyespots" or "predator spots". These spots fool predators.

Oh my, those are the cutest cubs I've ever seen! The tiger is beautiful. You chose good pictures. Again, thanks for the lesson. It's sad to see the animals disappearing--especially for the gratification of human beings.
